| There is a green LED light on the Tablet Plate. Sometimes it comes on, and sometimes it goes off. What does it mean? | |
The LED indicator light was designed for you to verify that the
Tablet hardware functions properly. The state of the light changes as described below.
There is a detailed description of how you verify the hardware functions of the Pen Device by watching the state of the indicator light in the User's Manual. The manual also describes how the LED light behaves on some older models of SuperPen. |
|
| I have installed the Tablet and the driver, but it does not seem to work. What should I do? | |
| You should first determine if it is a hardware problem. To
determine if it is a hardware problem, please verify that the LED indicator light behaves
as described in the answer to the above question or the User's
Manual. The Driver Software need not be installed for this test. If it is a hardware problem, contact the store where you bought your Tablet. If there's no problem with the hardware, please verify the general functionality by the following description:
If there's no Tablet Icon ( If you can see a Tablet Icon (
IMPORTANT steps for UPGRADING the driver
If the Tablet still can't work, please e-mail us and give us detailed information of your computer, such as the computer model, operating system, tablet model number, Serial or USB interface, and the circumstances around the problem. |

| Why can't I see the Annotate Toolbar when Word is started? | |
| First, verify that the Toolbar is not temporarily disabled by
following the procedure described later in this section. Then, try to install Annotate for
Word again by starting the Setup program on the Driver CD, and selecting only Annotate for
Word. If this still does not clear the problem, determine the Word Startup Directory by
selecting "Tools /Options /File locations /Startup",
tapping on "Modify", and looking for "Startup". Then, copy the file Annotate.dot under Driver
Software Directory to Word Startup Directory. You may determine Driver Software Directory
by finding the files Annotate.dot and Annotate.exe. To determine if the Annotate Toolbar is temporarily disabled, while the cursor is in the Toolbar area, press the upper button (must be set to the right click command on a mouse) and make sure that "Annotate" is checked as shown below. You may also select "View /Toolbar" to determine this. |

| Can I have both a mouse and the tablet connected to my machine at the same time? | |
| Yes, SuperPen tablet can co-exist with a PS/2 mouse. With a serial mouse, make sure the mouse doesn't have a resource conflict with the tablet. If the tablet is a serial device, it cannot share the same serial port with a serial mouse. In this case, also ensure that there is not a resource conflict in interrupt (IRQ). | |
| My modem stopped working after I installed the SuperPen tablet. What's going on? | |
| Make sure you don't have an IRQ conflict with the modem. By default, the pair of COM1 and COM3 serial ports uses a single IRQ resource; so does the COM2 and COM4 pair. If you connect a tablet to COM1 port and a modem to COM3 port, you will have an IRQ conflict. In this case, either or both of the tablet and the modem will not function properly. You should change the IRQ settings to remove the IRQ conflict. On the other hand, when you remove the modem, the COM port used by the modem is still not released on some computers, preventing SuperPen Tablet from functioning properly. You need to get help from the computer vendor. |
|
| How do I remove the SuperPen Tablet Driver? | |
| You remove the SuperPen Tablet Driver by running the Uninstall program from the SuperPen program group (Start /Programs /Superpen /Uninstall), created automatically when the driver was installed. | |
| I would like to move my tablet to another computer, but I have lost my original SuperPen Driver diskette. What should I do? | |
| You can download SuperPen Driver for free from Internet at Download Section. Once you have the file downloaded, expand its contents by double tapping on the file. You should then execute the SETUP program to install it as described in the User's Manual. | |
